_Saturday Morning Selfie

The exhibition was presented in February 2019 at the Potencja gallery in Krakow −> https://www.instagram.com/potencja/ and the Chicco Gallery. The project consists of several dozen illustrations painted with felt-tip pens on old photographic paper, based to varying degrees on photos taken from the web (Instagram). Thanks to the technique used, the images change over time – the forms spread out, the contours melt away. The initial photos usually show attractive women presenting the undisputed advantages of their body parts, or portraits with facial expressions that aspire to be sexy (lips, breasts, buttocks, nails, selfies, smartphones, the entire Instagram world). It is not, however, to do with pornography. They are mostly Instagram models, sometimes simply attractive women, some works seem to be more private, others seem to be completely devoid of erotic undertones. Pictures are different (the end works look more like figurative painting than pictures). The warm colors of felt-tip pens refer to old, poorly reproduced pornography. The attributes appearing in the pictures have a similar effect: dildo, corn, the fact that the whole project was created based on photos circulating on the Internet and is created with the intention of presenting it on the web. Expressive way of painting, sharp color, characteristically vulgarizing conventionality directly refer to the sphere of sexuality.
